Michael Jeffrey Jordan (born February 17, 1963), also known by his initials, MJ, is an American former professional basketball player, entrepreneur, and majority owner and chairman of the Charlotte Bobcats. His biography on the National Basketball Association (NBA) website states, "By acclamation, Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time." He is really the greatest of all times.

Early Years

Jordan was born in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Deloris (née Peoples), who worked in banking, and James R. Jordan, Sr., an equipment supervisor. His family moved to Wilmington, North Carolina, when he was a toddler. Jordan attended Emsley A. Laney High School in Wilmington, where he anchored his athletic career by playing baseball, football, and basketball. He tried out for the varsity basketball team during his sophomore year, but at 5'11" (1.80 m), he was deemed too short to play at that level. His taller friend, Harvest Leroy Smith, was the only sophomore to make the team.

Motivated to prove his worth, Jordan became the star of Laney's junior varsity squad, and tallied several 40-point games. The following summer, he grew four inches (10 cm) and trained rigorously. Upon earning a spot on the varsity roster, Jordan averaged about 20 points per game over his final two seasons of high school play. As a senior, he was selected to the McDonald's All-American Team after averaging a triple-double: 29.2 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 10.1 assists.

Jordan was recruited by numerous college basketball programs, including Duke, North Carolina, South Carolina, Syracuse, and Virginia. In 1981, Jordan accepted a basketball scholarship to North Carolina, where he majored in cultural geography. As a freshman in coach Dean Smith's team-oriented system, he was named ACC Freshman of the Year after he averaged 13.4 points per game (ppg) on 53.4% shooting (field goal percentage). He made the game-winning jump shot in the 1982 NCAA Championship game against Georgetown, which was led by future NBA rival Patrick Ewing. Jordan later described this shot as the major turning point in his basketball career.[15] During his three seasons at North Carolina, he averaged 17.7 ppg on 54.0% shooting, and added 5.0 rebounds per game (rpg).[8] He was selected by consensus to the NCAA All-American First Team in both his sophomore (1983) and junior (1984) seasons. After winning the Naismith and the Wooden College Player of the Year awards in 1984, Jordan left North Carolina one year before his scheduled graduation to enter the 1984 NBA Draft. The Chicago Bulls selected Jordan with the third overall pick, after Hakeem Olajuwon (Houston Rockets) and Sam Bowie (Portland Trail Blazers). Jordan returned to North Carolina to complete his degree in 1986.

Funchal, Madeira, Portugal. He plays for Real Madrid CF and for Portuguese National team. Currently he is the

Capatain of his National team. He is also a brilliant player from Portugal. His first club was Sporting FC Portugal.

Ronaldo was born in Santo António, a neighbourhood of Funchal, Madeira, the youngest child of Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro, a cook, and José Dinis Aveiro, a municipal gardener. His second given name "Ronaldo" was chosen after then-U.S. president Ronald Reagan, who was his father's favourite actor. He has one older brother, Hugo, and two older sisters, Elma and Liliana Cátia. His great-grandmother Isabel da Piedade was from Cape VerdeAt the age of eight, Ronaldo played for amateur team Andorinha, where his father was the kit man. In 1995, Ronaldo signed with local club Nacional, and, after a title-winning campaign, he went on a three-day trial with Sporting CP, who subsequently signed him for an undisclosed sum. Ronaldo joined Sporting's other youth players who trained at the Academia Sporting, the club's football academy, in Alcochete. The surgery took place in the morning and Ronaldo was discharged from hospital by the end of the afternoon; he resumed training only a few days later. In November 2002, Ronaldo was invited to Arsenal's training ground, London Colney to meet manager Arsène Wenger and his coaching staff. Wenger, who was interested in signing the midfielder had arranged to meet Ronaldo's representatives, Formation (who suggested the player originally to Gérard Houllier, then Liverpool's manager) in the subsequent months to discuss a transfer arrangement. However he came to the attention of Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson in the summer of 2003, when Sporting defeated United 3–1 in the inauguration of the Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon. Ronaldo's performance impressed the Manchester United players, who urged Ferguson to sign him. Ronaldo was offered to Barcelona for less than the €15 million Manchester United paid, but the Catalan club could not afford him at the time as the club had already spent its budget on other players.
On April 2013, Ronaldo was honoured by Sporting as the club announced that the player had become their 100,000th member.

Messi was born in Rosario, Santa Fe Province, to parents Jorge Horácio Messi, a factory steel worker, and Celia María Cuccittini, a part-time cleaner. His paternal family originates from the Italian city of Ancona, from which his ancestor, Angelo Messi, emigrated to Argentina in 1883. He has two older brothers, Rodrigo and Matías, and a sister, María Sol.At the age of five, Messi started playing football for Grandoli, a local club coached by his father Jorge. In 1995, Messi switched to Newell's Old Boys who were based in his home city Rosario. He became part of a local youth powerhouse that lost only one match in the next four years and became locally known as "The Machine of '87", from the year of their birth.
At the age of 11, Messi was diagnosed with a growth hormone deficiency. Local powerhouse River Plate showed interest in Messi's progress, but were not willing to pay for treatment for his condition, which cost $900 a month. Carles Rexach, the sporting director of FC Barcelona, had been made aware of his talent as Messi had relatives in Lleida, and Messi and his father were able to arrange a trial with the team.Rexach, with no other paper at hand, offered Messi a contract written on a paper napkin. Barcelona offered to pay for Messi's medical bills if he was willing to move to Spain. Messi and his father moved to Barcelona where Messi enrolled in the club's youth academy.

Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior

Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior is a young Brazilian footballer commonly known as Neymar. He was born on 5th  February 1992 in Mogi das Cruzes,Brazil. This young player has been in quite a good form and has been the hot topic of the football world. He is now known as the face of Brazilian football. Neymar is a Brazilian international, having represented Brazil at under 17,under 20 and senior levels. He has currently joined the Catalans in Spain,FC Barcelona. Now we are yet to see what he will do or can do to change the game of football.

History of Neymar

Neymar da Silva Santos, Júnior was born in Mogi das Cruzes, São Paulo, to Neymar da Silva, Sr. and Nadine Santos. He inherited his name from his father, who is a former footballer and became his son's advisor as Neymar's talents began to grow.Neymar comments on his father's role "My father has been by my side since I was little. He takes care of things, my finances and my family." Growing up, Neymar combined his love of futsal with street football.

In 1992, Neymar moved with his family to São Vicente, where he began playing for youth side Portuguesa Santista. Then, in 2003, they moved to Santos, where Neymar joined Santos FC. With the success of his youth career and added income, the family bought their first property, a house next to the Vila Belmiro. Their quality of family life improved, as at age 15, Neymar was earning 10,000 reais per month and at 16, 25,000 reais per month. At 17, he signed a full professional contract, getting upgraded to the Santos first team and even receiving sponsorships.

At the current FIFA Confederations Cup he had a wonderful performance overall. He was the man of the match in every game and he scored goals too. He scored 4 goals in 5 matches and had 3 assists. He showed glimpses of brilliance in this competition in front of his home fans. He also scored a crucial goal in the final game against Spain which won them the FIFA Confederations Cup for the 3rd time. Neymar  also got the golden ball for his amazing performance in the Confederations cup.

He has great future ahead and has earned a lot of fans at such a young age. He has now transferred to Barcelona and is going to play alongside the little magician Lionel Messi.

Basics rules of basketball

Shooting:
The ball may be thrown in any direction with one or both hands.The ball may be batted in any direction with one or both hands.

Travelling:
A player cannot run with the ball. The player must throw it from the spot on which he catches it, allowance to be made for a man who catches the ball when running at a good speed if he tries to stop. While making a shot the person can only move two steps by taking a shot.

Dribbling
Once you dribble the ball u cannot catch it. If you do catch the ball then you must either shoot or pass to a teammate. If u dribble again,it will be a double dribble violation and you will loose possession.

Basketball is easy to play. Just know these rules and a bit practice and you play.

Kobe Bryant

Kobe Bean Bryant, nicknamed the "Black Mamba", is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association. He has become the new name of domination in basketball.

From the year of his draft in 1996 on NBA. He has created a spark in the world of basketball. He won the Slam Dunk contest the very next year in 1997. Then with his hardwork and determination he went on to be the NBA champion in the year 2000 with shaq O Neal. From that year the world basketball knew that the basketball world was going to change. Someone was not going to rest until he becomes the best. That was Kobe Bryant. He and the Lakes together with Shaq won the NBA championship 3 years in a row. That made Kobe shine even more. The whole franchise leaned on him and he fulfilled his responsibility very well. After the 2003/4 season,kobe and shaq had a clash which made Shaq's transfer and Kobe became the face of the franchise. He was breaking record after record and was surpassing all the lakers who came before him. At the 2007/8 season he became the NBA MVP. The same season he scored 81 points in a single game putting him second in the list of all time highest scorers.Unfortunately they were swept by SA Spurs in the NBA finals. They finally came back in style. They won the NBA championships in 2009 and 2010 consecutively with Kobe Bryant the MVP in both of the

NBA playoffs.

NBA season 2013 preview

The 2013–14 NBA season will be the 68th season of the National Basketball Association. The last season was won by "The Miami Heats". The Miami Heats have won the NBA playoffs for second time in a row. Their team was unbeatable at one time in the 2012-13 season. This season is going to be a tough one for them. The 16 time NBA champions and now a star studded team LA Lakers had an early exit from the playoffs. But their star Kobe Bryant is returning from a Achilles tendon tear which he suffered before the playoffs. Now the loosing teams The New York Knicks and their star the one from the era of Lebron James ( the 2012-13 MVP) Carmelo Anthony will be looking to comeback in style. Kevin Durant of the Thunder will also look to dominate the game with thier point guard Russel Westbrook.

                            The man who is being awaited by everyone is Derrick Rose from the bulls. He will be back this season. This young man has talent as well as the determination to come on top. He missed a season deu to injury.

Kobe Bryant

The one that cannot be forgotten is the team that lost to the Heats in the finals. They have 3 great players. Tony parker,Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobli. This trio has won many games bt unfortunately lost to the Miami Heats this season.
